Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in every 12 seasons of Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals with the show, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence, her mother, was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved between jobs and another throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family often relied on free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls that her father was an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran had difficulty at school and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to a local Catholic elementary school and started the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year of high school.
